Lenta opens two new hypermarkets in Saint-Petersburg
St. Petersburg, Russia; 23 September 2020 – Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of its two new hypermarkets in Saint-Petersburg.
The first store is a Lenta hypermarket located at 10 Kollontay street. The store has a total area of 7,140 sq.m with 4,295 sq.m of selling space. The store has 161 parking spaces and 21 cash registers including 10 self check-outs. The hypermarket is opened 24 hours a day seven days a week.
The second hypermarket is located at 32 Kolpinskoe highway. The store has a total area of 7,854 sq.m with 4,099 sq.m of selling space. The store has 200 parking spaces and 21 cash registers including 10 self check-outs. The store is opened 24 hours seven days a week.
Both hypermarkets are opened in premises previously operated by SPAR.
Both stores offer a broad product range of 11,000 SKUs, which has been selected specifically for residents of Saint-Petersburg and includes Lenta’s private labels and federal product ranges alongside local produce.
The properties are leased by Lenta.
Lenta reconstructed premises to meet different clients’ needs and fulfill various customer journeys. The layout design of both stores is made to promote fresh and healthy food. New equipment allows making shopping more convenient and ensuring perfect representation of goods.
Lenta undertook explicit measures to ensure safe environment for its customers and employees during the pandemic of coronavirus. All Lenta stores are equipped with sanitizing stations and protective screens at checkouts and own production areas to minimize health related risks. The personnel is provided with high quality respirators and gloves and goes through body temperature control procedure daily. All the equipment and premises are cleaned with disinfectants several times a day.
The new openings are Lenta’s first and second hypermarket launches in 2020 and bring the total number of Lenta stores to 250 hypermarkets in 88 cities across Russia and 135 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and the Central region.
